Dear Friends and Fellow Patriots,
What an exciting night for Bexar County, Texas, and our country! Everyone stepped up and made this an election to remember: 759,397 people voted, 58.60% of registered voters. At the RPBC Watch Party, we watched with anticipation the election results as each state on the map was turning RED and the electoral votes kept adding up. Finally, reaching that magical number of 270, Donald J. Trump became the next President of the United States!
However, the excitement does not end there, I am thrilled to share our success stories from Bexar County: because of your dedication and hard work, we held every incumbent’s seat:
- Senator Ted Cruz
- Congressman Chip Roy
- Congressman Tony Gonzales
- State Senator Donna Campbell
- Representative John Lujan, D118
- Representative Mark LaHood, D121
- Representative Mark Dorazio, D122
Even with the above successes, the wins of our Justices for the 4th Court of Appeals are truly a highlight of the evening. All four candidates are from Bexar County, but their district encompasses 32 counties, and this is a 6-year term. This huge victory is a result of a shared belief of the importance of the rule of law. People are tired of Judges not doing their jobs and being soft on crime due to political bias.
- Todd McCray, Justice 4th Court of Appeals District, Place 3
- Lori Massey Brissette, Justice, 4th Court of Appeals, Place 4
- Adrian Spears, Justice, 4th Court of Appeals, Place 5
- Lori Valenzuela, Justice, 4th Court of Appeals, Place 7
For those candidates who ran and did not win; running for office takes courage, sacrifice and is a noble commitment. Please do not see it as a loss, but a small roadblock in your path to greater achievements in your political life. Thank you all for representing the Party and for your hard work and efforts.
Lastly, I want to thank everyone who dedicated so much of their time and treasure to this election. Our Election Judges, Clerks, and Poll Greeters managed everything skillfully and efficiently. The Poll Watchers, most often, were well-received. RPBC, the candidate campaigns and all volunteers were engaged in the process of getting out the vote. Block walking, phone banking and the countless volunteers behind the scenes making sure everything was running smoothly, which made this election a success. Thank you, Bexar County Republicans!
Now, incredibly, we have even more to do after this election. My first 121 days as your Chairwoman have been exciting and rewarding and we have plans for The Republican Party of Bexar County. We must gear up and “fight fight fight” for the betterment of our county, state, and country.!
Let’s organize, prepare, and get ready for the next election cycle and make Bexar County RED!
With Appreciation and Gratefulness,
Kris Coons
Chair Republican Party of Bexar County
